Artist Analysis: The Justin Duke Project
* Montell Jordan - This is How we Do it (Video) Acoustic Cover by The Justin Duke Project
Great guitar playing
this song has quite fast lyrics and he is doing really well
he has great notation, no wrong notes
great timing
he is playing the guitar & singing at the same time.
Something about him reminds me of George Michael in his style of guitar playing.
An excellent rhythm guitarist.
I wonder if he is also a drummer?
A highlight at 1:25, it seems like he is building energy & momentum.
He also reminds me of Newton Faulkner.
That was a great song cover!
Interesting to hear a classic RnB song covered in an acoustic guitar indie style.
He is very talented. This shows a real diversity in his choices of songs.
A very eclectic way of thinking.
* The Thong Song by Sisqo (Acoustic Cover by The Justin Duke Project)
He has chosen to slow the song down & play it with a shuffled rhythm.
I can tell from his facial expressions when he sings that he would make a great frontman of a band, great for music videos.
He sped it up at around 1:11!
This cover is very interesting & dynamic.
2:03 "Thong thong th-thong thong thong!"
This guy really know how to have fun with music
2:42, he chose to end the song like a classic bard (Skyrim).
Alright, i'm sold, this guy is great!
Song Review
So far I've heard his youtube video recordings, but I want to hear his studio recordings on soundcloud.

01 - The Justin Duke Project - Backtrack
Drums, Acoustic Guitars, Flute, Bass, Vocals.
He sounds like the lead singer of R.E.M!
The mix sounds good.
This song sounds quite happy, major key, relaxed tempo, probably 100+/- bpm.
I think this recording could do with some harmonies, but it is a well recorded song.
The songwriting is very natural with a great variety of chord progression and instrument changes.
Justin has quite a soft voice but he gets his notes right and when he is relaxed there is some natural vibrato.
He is a definitely a very musical person, this is clear.
I'll give this song an 8/10. I do really like Justin's work though! He's good! His greatest strengths appear to be in his rhythm guitar playing, songwriting, production, audio engineering, charisma & friendly, peaceful and humble attitude.
He is very down-to-earth and a skilled musician.
One other thing i'd like to point out, I can't play guitar as well as this guy. So please do not see this review with any intention of disrespect.
Just my opinions, and I could be completely wrong
