Very melodic start. Not sure what direction it's going to go in. I can hear some singing.
Ain't No Levels is the hook
Now there is rapping, the flow is good, there is some creativity to the metaphor of a locksmith and breaking into the game
The flow is good as the tempo of the beat requires good timing to not go half speed.
2nd verse - another good flow
The production is good, the drum programming is creative and the instrumentation has a great sense of musical theme.
This sounds like something you could expect to hear from Birdman/Cash money Lil' Wayne.
2:50 another rapper. They all work together well. There is an electric guitar which sounds excellent.
The instruments dropped out to allow the vocals to be heard more creating a good sense of variation.
The track is well produced.
There is a lot of potential to this group, I see them similar to Three 6 Mafia.
That is a lot of positivity, but it is necessary to mention some things that could be improved on, for this group to grow as artists.
I believe they are able to achieve the things I will suggest, so I will say what could be done in a different way.
-=-
I'm gonna need to listen to it again to point out areas for improvement.
1. Okay. If i had a chance to mix this, I would apply compression to the vocal lines to get them all sounding equal in volume.
2. I would apply equalization to all the vocals to make sure there is no low end (under 100Hz) interfering with the bass elements in the production.
3. I would route all the vocals to the same channel so that they can all go through the same effects chain, so that things like reverb / delay can be applied or removed where necessary.
4. I would add some vocal chants to keep the energy up without adding an instrument form of percussion or rhythmic synth. Those things are already there, so a vocal chant is a way to add rhythm to what is already there. "Ayy" or "hey" or "yup", that type of thing. American accent samples to fit the culture.
5. The laughs at 0:25 would be treated as an ad lib track, so they would be about 5db quieter than the main vocal track. Possibly put through a band pass type filter (typical telephone effect)
6. I personally would consider adding some slight autotune to the vocal lines, especially where there is any form of singing, not as a corrective change, but a sonic decoration. The singer has good notation, so it really would be their decision if they want to use autotune or not, but it would just be my personal suggestion.
7. This rapper at 0:46 sounds a bit like the platinum selling artist 'Chingy'. That is a good thing in my opinion. Real potential there.
8. The beep synth in the background at around 1:05; I would apply some delay to it. It's not a rule, it's just a decoration. Doesn't have to be done!
9. At 1:12 there is a vocal line that has been ad-libbed so it is running on two channels almost identically, overlapped. I personally would apply some slight Chorus effect so that it mixes the two layers together more. I'm self-taught, I'm not a 'professional' so it's just an idea.
10. Much respect to the rapper at 2:05! Never drinks or smokes? Commendable! Better than me! Haha.
11. The production is REALLY good by the way. Gets better the more I hear what's going on in the song.
12. The hook at 2:29 - Excellent. Sounds great. Works really well.
13. It's a fun track to listen to. Has a lot of 'bounce'.
14. This electric guitar part at 2:24. Hidden talents! Seriously amazing work.
15. That FLOW at 3:10! Seriously! Very very very very very good.
16. Great track! The bassline is sick too.
