The reason I'm doing this (Artist Development/Mentoring/Promotion) is pretty much because I've been learning to produce music for 17 years. Let me put that into perspective for you.
Martin Garrix, Avicii & Afrojack got their first Beatport #1 Hit at age 17.
They figured it out quicker than me. So (1) I want to help other people figure it out quickly. That way, talented producers won't have to make 10,000 beats to get good enough, and then have to re-make those 10,000 beats to sell them, or have a career off of them. If you figure it out when you've made your first 1000, that way you still have 9000 beats to sell!
I say 'sell', because I started with Hip Hop. In the Hip Hop community you sell beats to rappers. EDM producers can't sell their 'beats' unless they find someone who wants to employ a 'Ghost Producer'.
So when I say 'sell', I'm also talking about 'release professionally on Beatport/iTunes' etc.
Another reason is this:
(2) I have probably given up about 100 times. So the fact that I got back to producing music, means those 100 times were really just breaks. They also can be seen as 100 solutions to dead-end problems I encountered. I want to share those 100 solutions with others who can appreciate it and who it might help most. Why don't i just dump those 100 tips into a text document and upload it for the world to learn?
Because there's more than 100. Much more.
It's not just solutions to 'Music Production' related problems, it's outside of that too, which is why i do Mentoring. I want to help artists. Vocalists too. I'm not a singer but I did study Eminem's rapping style for about 10 years, even though I have no interest in trying to be a rapper myself. I care about harmony, so that's an area I want to help singers with. Self Confidence is an area that can help any type of artist.
(3) I want to help people overcome all the difficulties I encountered, without having to struggle with long breaks. Let's just get you over that hurdle so you can stay focused & keep improving at your craft.
That's what this is all about. In ANY media-related career. I actually care.
