Finally figured out what it is I’d like to say.
In the past I have underestimated the process of starting a record label, and 6tetra4 Record Label recently posted an introductory video which really blew my mind and changed how I think about the whole thing. I didn’t realise the amount of work it took them to get their project started, and launch their label officially in February 2017.
I am extremely glad they did.
It is likely that my.. decision to jump ship from Music Production as a focus, to Artist Development (+Mentoring & Promotion) caused my #hashtags to allow the connection between myself and John Novello of 6tetra4 to meet on twitter.
Since then, he has introduced me to Tom Kelly of CYD Radio (https://twitter.com/chasing_urdream) and more recently District Da Capo, who promote Indie Artists.
Between our similar and highly compatible visions, we are finding common ground that we are able to share to make progress as a unit, and this is a great opportunity for a small new brand such as Audiozoo, and one that is not happening without an incredibly high amount of gratitude to them.
They have reached out to me, and in doing so, they are helping every artist that I am trying to promote, even indirectly - it is substantial, it is valuable and it is appreciated.
The main thing i’d like to say is, since watching that video I have currently scrapped any future plans that were forming regarding Audiozoo Records, as the only intention of it’s existence was to allow me to release music officially for artists in a variety of genres. I just want to give them the chance they deserve to have a realistic music career.
That is no longer necessary, as has been demonstrated just yesterday, I sent out a tweet after discovering an extremely talented and diverse artist, and fortunately John was kind enough to take my suggestion seriously, and that means a lot. More than I can expect to be able to explain.
I started a forum as a way to get the ball rolling without having to approach a bank for the requesting of start up capital. That has been a stage that has hindered me from lauching any other entrepreneurial ideas that have whizzed around in my brain.
One of the things I have found most challenging as a music producer is having a vocalist be willing to follow my lead on some creative decision-making, so I have become a producer that uses text-to-speech + vocoder to get song lyrics sung without any communicative delays and unfinished ideas.
What 6tetra4 & CYDR have done, by even being willing to ‘join my forum’ (“what? why?”), is break that cycle of being unable to make things happen that require the trust of others on creative decisions. This actually is something I should both credit & thank the members of this Audiozoo forum, because they have ALSO demonstrated a willingness to give me a chance to make my ideas happen in reality, with their kind say-so.
So I would like to envision the bond between 6tetra4 and CYDR as the foundation for multi-genre artists to potentially get a foot on the ladder to success. Promotion is definitely a necessary infrastructure, but having a record label release is important because nobody can self-authorise their first charting release. It requires the verification of a reputable and official established imprint.
I’ll stop writing here by saying thank you to John & Tom, and also District Da Capo’s team.
