- 1st listen
The preview starts halfway through a verse
JessLee has an incredibly powerful voice. Quite a medium vocal tone, but a high vocal tone.
If i'm honest I'm not sure at the moment if she is alto, tenor or soprano, so i say medium for lack of a better word. Not deep, not squeaky! Middle.
I'll check it in a few moments to be accurate in description.
She reminds me of Avril Lavinge & Hayley Williams.
She has extremely accurate harmonies (in terms of rhythm) and the choice of notation is layered several times creating a rich layer of choral tones.
As the preview was short I will listen again.

I love the drumming, the toms sound very clean with great mixing.
The cymbals are not too loud, but the definition of the hi hat's subtle openings are still clearly audible.
Something unique about this song is the ukelele. It is played at quite a high speed, traditional country-style arpeggioes decorating the mid range frequencies.
From the powerchords in the guitar lines, to the piano in the break, every instrument has been mixed to perfection with a great sense of balance.
On second listen I notice there is also a violin playing staccato in the break.
The mix overall is exceptionally good, so hearing JessLee hit high notes with vibrato and only having subtle reverb/delay to add that studio polish just shows how much vocal skill she has.
I am most impressed with her harmony writing and the perfectionism in having the syllables match each other in rhythm so accurately.
JessLee is a finely skilled artist and this song definitely deserves a 10/10 in my opinion!
Now, to figure out the difference between alto tenor & soprano...

Okay. So I'm under the impression the most accurate way to describe JessLee's vocal tone is 'Mezzo-Soprano'. It is fantastically beautiful to listen to, I might add.
Especially those perfect harmonies! Also she varies her dynamics between soft and fortissimo accents, which tells me she can sing a large variety of song repertoire.
Everything from 'Celine Dion - My Heart Will Go On' (soft) to 'Mylie Cyrus - Wrecking Ball' (more aggressive type of singing style).
