0:53 the drum pattern changes and the drummer, bass guitarist, guitarist and vocalist take on a new energetic form.
1:25 they actually sound like Foo Fighters in my opinion.
Really nice chords, 2nd verse, more relaxed feel.
What a brilliant drummer. 2:02
The whole band function so well as a unit.
The lead vocalist's vocal tone reminds me of Josh Homme, but his accent appears to be British.
2:46 a guitar solo, and the main riff comes back in.
This is a very unique pattern for a guitar solo!
We have an ABAB structure, where A=lead guitar improvisation and B=main powerchord riff.
That is so unique and it sounds incredible.
It seemed the bass guitarist got more into it just after that too.
The whole song could be described as dynamic and constantly elevating in energy.
The main riff is generally in a minor key, but the song still has a positive feel to it.
It is a bit like 'Oasis - Wonderwall', but more heavy and hard-hitting, in your face, Kasabian-esque rock.
5:05 the lead singer holds his note for quite an extended duration which definitely takes some skill and the song ends somewhat abruptly, but paints a raw and definitive finale.
The song being titled 'Terminal velocity' has an eerie connection to the sense of building energy I felt as the song progressed.
I would not be surprised if that was a creative intention.
Quite ingenious! 10/10
