Artist Analysis
- First song: Rollercoaster
Okay, so i've started the review halfway through the song.
This artist is an excellent guitarist, I've heard his work on other tracks, but this is about this song, so i'll keep it specific.
I like the mix of electronic synths and electric guitars. This song reminds me of Junkie XL's style of music.
I especially like the guitar lines heard around the 3:00 marker.
The genre could be Trance Electronica, Alternative Rock.
- Rollercoaster (Guitarless Mix)
It actually reminds me of a 'The Prodigy' track.
- Next song: V For Vendetta
This song starts off sounding like an uptempo Electronica track, with 909 hi hats and acid bass synths.
Then the guitars come in and automatically this song takes on a new level of greatness.
The song is fast-paced, full of energy, a minor key, aggressive tone victorious melodic theme.
I personally think this would make a superb soundtrack for an action-based computer game; especially sci-fi in nature.
It has me thinking of Mortal Kombat or Tekken soundtrack, and also Marilyn Manson, Celldweller as there is a mix of guitars and synths.
- Tundra
This track starts off sounding electronically ambient, with some lofi synths and a major 9th, with subtle distortion.
Okay, this one is quite downtempo, electronica, with a regular kick pattern and a 909 ride cymbal. It reminds me of Radiohead. The synth that introduces the song flutters like a flame, with slight tweaks and modulations.
The drums are somewhat similar to Massive Attack - Angel. The synths could accurately be defined as retro, then at 1:26 the guitars come in and instantly this changes the entire dynamic of the song.
Now it sounds more like U2 or Keane, without vocals.
There is a song on Nero's album 'Welcome Reality' that sounds a bit similar to this (a non-dubstep song).
