wow, what a great voice! the mixing is very clean and the guitars are decorated with some synths and creative electronic vocal chopping.
The mix is atmospheric & the acoustic guitar strumming is beautiful.
Danielle has a unique voice, possibly a mezzo-soprano vocal tone but what is so different about her is she sings in a style where I would usually hear a singer's vibrato, but she keeps her notes straight.
I need to re-listen to the short snippet preview.
I really like the electronic drum programming, and the gorgeous piano arpeggioes which I only noticed the second time.
The electric guitar in the left channel is soft & creatively melodic.
The chorus has electric guitar chords driving the main part of the instrumentation
I have to credit Danielle for her beautiful harmonies.
Yeah, there's no electric guitar chords in the verse. Wanted to check that.
This makes the chorus really stand out and create variety and clarity of song structure.
The preview leads into a bridge section but ends.
I want to listen again because that is where you get to hear Danielle's vocals in a different way.
I'll focus on her harmonies.
They are extremely clean and correct in notation. No autotune, I'll just point that out!
Much respect for such a high standard of notational accuracy.
I like the way she goes for the dominant note in her harmonies - it shows she has a high vocal range - but there is a true humility there, because her higher note is being reached in the lower mixed harmony.
Usually, you'd hear a singer's highest notes in the main line.
Her higher notes are in the harmony, hardly even noticeable unless the listener is paying close attention to background details as they are mixed quite low.
No criticism on the mixing, it sounds remarkably clean and well presented, and I especially love the collage of electronic & live instrument elements.
The decorative vocal chops and synth blips, subtle reverb tails tying sections together in sophisticated & dynamic ways... This song is not a simple creation, but it appears simpler than it might seem on the first listen because the engineer's focus is most likely allowing the vocal line to shine at the forefront.
overall this is an excellent song, great recording quality & songwriting, creative mixing and beautiful harmonies & instrumental decorations.
It carries a real sense of flair, class & professionalism. 10/10.
