I am so disappointed and furious right now.
I want to explain how to cheat SoundCloud users into thinking you care about their music.
Let me explain something.
I do not do this, because it is directly OPPOSITE to the Audiozoo ethos.
However, there are some users on SoundCloud who have discovered this method that seems to work quite well for them.
I personally find it disgusting and I cannot believe someone could be so selfish to do this over the course of years to keep their songs filled up with comments, while they only type 1 word ‘positive’ but meaningless, emotionless, careless comments on around 60-80 people when trying to promote a new upload of their own, just to get those people to visit their page.
You get 60-80 comments on your SoundCloud upload, and it will be pretty much filled up, nobody will be able to find space to comment.
It is not difficult to find 60-80 songs on SoundCloud, comment 1 word on them, even without listening.
What sickens me the most, is that these comments could be said to anyone, regardless of the quality of their music. From the worst, to the best, “Nice” is deemed as acceptable.
I have to be honest, I had to ask myself about half an hour ago, “is it just me? would I be offended by a 1 word comment while other people are more appreciative? Maybe i’m just thinking in the wrong way”. But then I remembered conversations I have had with friends; they want more than just “Nice” or “Great”. They want feedback. They have tried everything they can think of, to find a place or a way to share their music, to people who might actually:
1. Care about what they are listening to
2. Understand what they are listening to
3. Not be selfish and hold back constructive criticism
4. Not be overly critical just to overcome a system (CloudKillers)
It’s not easy to find this, and that is why I started Audiozoo.
I wanted to create an environment where friends are listening to friends music.
That way, they will make comments that they actually mean, and all the artists involved in the project will benefit and never have to go back to the 1 word superficial zombie-like song responses.
I’m gonna stop typing now. trying to decide if you need a screenshot to better understand what I’m talking about... yeah, alright. might as well since it's still in my copy+paste
