Life recently seems to just be punching me in the face. I lost all inspiration in music (2 months I couldn't come up with a thing). My soundcloud pro expired. I work a dead end Job that's only part time and doesn't make me near enough money. I have no training or schooling (and can't afford it) so the situation seemed hopeless. Then on top of that I had been getting close to someone for a year now who abruptly cut me off for no reason. Things just seem horrible.
The issue is that I sit around and think about my problems...it's not so much that I have a lot of problems. We are some of the most privileged human beings in human history, and yet we're more depressed and angry than any generation before us. I'm not going to claim to know the answer to the problems, but I can tell you when this stuff starts happening...just relax. That's all you can do. That doesn't mean you don't act to better your situation (Like searching for a job), but it just means you must be at peace. Sitting & worrying will cause the situation to look a lot worse than it actually is.
I decided to just sit and play video games for a few days I had off. Just distract myself...clear my brain and think of something else entirely.
Just decided not to worry, and it worked. I was able to get another well paying part time job doing something I love. My inspiration for music came back. The person who cut me off has partially allowed me back into their life (Not as close as we were before, but I'm glad I didn't entirely lose them). Life got better. It's just a matter of searching and not worrying.
What's the point of this post? Just to let you know that you aren't feeling anything others haven't before. Someone has experienced what you're experiencing, and often times something worse. They all got through it, and you can too. Being depressed sucks. Losing something or someone sucks. Not having inspiration sucks, but if you just relax and let things happen...most of the time things will start looking upward for you.
Life does promote negativity. We are surrounded by negativity about anything and everything. I struggle with it everyday. The point is that when it gets bad you take a break. You just stop worrying and stop being negative with yourself.
If you're feeling down talk to somebody on the forums. We all been through it. We can encourage you and hopefully help you.
Another thing to take from this, You can't always be positive. Sometimes you have to be negative. Maybe not publicly, but it's ok to approach friends you trust with your negativity. Hopefully they can get you back to a positive attitude. I'm sure my friends were starting to get sick of me being negative, but they knew I just needed someone to stick around and help.
