How do we determine correct mixing from incorrect mixing?
Think 5 piece band.
1. Vocal 2. Rhythm Guitar 3. Lead Guitar 4. Bass 5. Drums
The two things that you have to think about when mixing audio is:
A. Gain Region [GR] B. Pan Location [PL]
Nothing hits 100% because you need to keep some headroom, as when many tracks are playing, they sum up to higher decibles.
1. Vocal: GR - 80% (Prioritised) PL - Centered
2. Rhythm Guitar GR - 60% of vocal PL - left
3. Lead Guitar GR - 60% of vocal PL - right
4. Bass GR - 40% PL - Centered
5. Drums GR - 50% (+/-depends on genre) PL - Centered Kick & Snare (panned cymbals, hi hat, toms)
