Hi there everyone. Sorry I haven't been super active on twitter, just had a lot going on in life that made things a bit difficult. Also I wanted to slow down my twitter activity to check how much its growing in relation to effort or if it's just running on auto-pilot.
4 things that are out there that can be used in conjunction to create a functional marketing campaign at a low cost:
THAT HARD - They seem to be able to get you the stats that will make your soundcloud look corporate and not just personal (i’ve explained this in another article - put simply corporate = good stats & personal = bad stats) but you do have to pay them for their services.

I have seen a soundcloud page that has benefited from their services which is why I mention them.
Personally I used to think of them in a laughable way where I wouldn’t want to use them myself, but I was thinking today and realised if they are not your only form of promotion then they are not so laughable, they do have their benefits that in my opinion outweigh the flaws.

ATOM COLLECTOR RECORDS - They are able to get your music heard by real people & this will increase your soundcloud stats, but in a real way. Basically you embed a song (for free) and that song will be visible on their website as long as you have points in your account. These points deplete as your song gets listened to by other users of the website. How do you get more points to keep your song in rotation? listen to other people’s songs that have been embedded to the site. Everyone using the site is in exactly the same position, and fortunately it costs nothing but time to use.

AUDIOZOO - They are able to get your music some recognition - even though on a small scale; 3000 followers on twitter (in 3 months). The playlist your music gets added to is always pinned to the top of the timeline. One downfall is that as more artist get added (where the maximum accepted will be 100 artists, currently at 62/100), it takes longer to get through that playlist, unless the playlist is listened to on soundcloud’s shuffle mode - which is not visible through twitter’s soundcloud player, but only on soundcloud itself. This is not Audiozoo’s fault, it is just the way twitter & soundcloud are currently designed. However, as a workaround, Audiozoo has Genre-based Playlists also, which reduce the listening time required significantly. Unfortunately, Twitter only allows for one tweet to be pinned to the top. Audiozoo has a forum that has an area available for public viewing that contains all these Genre-based Playlists, so if anyone visits the forum (and the link is in the bio of the main Audiozoo twitter page) they are able to easily find the Genre-based Playlists.

FACEBOOK ADS - If you’re willing to spend some money to help you make more sales by reaching a larger audience - Facebook Ads. One way to make effective use of this is visit ‘Know Your Meme’ to get ideas on what to title your song. Base your song title on a currently trending meme (you can check the active dates vs global traffic graphs supplied for each meme), and use related words in your hashtags when you share the song via twitter, so that when people search for the meme, they could find your song. Twitter also has paid ads but I have never used this so I cannot give any advice on it. Don’t just pick a random meme though, try to find a meme that is somewhat related to the subject matter of your song, even if the connection is minimal.

THE UNSIGNED GUIDE - Oh, of course! I knew there was another site I wanted to mention. The Unsigned Guide. Great for promotion. Their promotion is based on their acceptance, not money. I can't guarantee they'll pick your submission, but they are worth knowing about as an ongoing opportunity. You don't only get one chance with them. Perseverance can pay off.

Sales related advice:
DISTROKID - This is an aggregator that can get your music added to online retailers like Beatport (great for EDM artists) and iTunes (great for every other genre). It costs something to use their service but they are good value for money in my opinion especially when compared to their many competitors. This is who I personally would use as an aggregator.

BANDCAMP - This is a website that you can upload your music to an allow users to pay-what-they-want for your music. Those who can’t afford the fixed price set on the music retailers can get your song for free if they are willing to provide you with an email address.
