What does all this mean?
He uses [Page 1] to promote [Page 2].
What is the problem?
It is a scam, because his comments from [Page 1] are not genuine.
The comments are on average 2 words long.
The comments occasionally repeat, suggesting he uses 'Clipboard Manager' to allow multiple cut&paste comments to be stored for recycling.
These comments do not relate to the audio, they are just a way of advertising his soundcloud link.
This is a very selfish strategy, and bad for the soundcloud community, as it encourages an environment where the quality of music becomes increasingly irrelevant, and soundcloud stats become more important.
This kills the motivation of talented artists trying to use soundcloud to get their music heard, whether that be for feedback as in constructive criticism, or feedback as in promotional comments.
What pisses me off, is this:
23,000 people haven't seemed to notice the scam.
Being aware of the method, inspires me to use it myself, but I cannot, because I personally find it unethical, and I see it doing damage to artists such as myself, and other artists I would likely try to support through Audiozoo.
Now I don't actually like the idea that I'm technically 'exposing someone' on the internet, but- the reason I think it's important isn't to try to destroy his progress or success, but it is to demonstrate how soundcloud gets abused, and also, to help artists who find this article, to be aware of the importance of not letting soundcloud stats become so important to you that you get demoralised & lose self-confidence & motivation, because soundcloud is an entirely flawed system, which people like Max-Vell take advantage of.
I've been aware of this for a year, but I have not mentioned it to the public until now, because I just saw one his comments on a random page that just followed me, and that was the straw that broke the camel's back.
Enough is enough, I need to let you guys know.
